Dear Parents,

I know it seems crazy to start thinking about next school year already with so much more to do in the upcoming months!  But, now that we have secured our budget (thank you so much!!) and are becoming clearer about changes and improvements that are working to improve student learning (yeah, NECAP scores!), we are planning for September.  As you know, we will be organizing our homeroom classes in multi-age groupings (1/2, 3/4 and 5/6).  These three teams of teachers have been busy designing curriculum, thinking about schedules, looking at models, researching best practices and deciding how they will collaborate together.  Your child will be in a multi-age homeroom classroom. There will be times when straight grade learning opportunities will happen (certain units, lessons, projects) and times when your child will work with the other team teachers (i.e. a different teacher for math than their homeroom teacher) also giving them a chance to work with a variety of peers. Each team will be sharing details with you as we continue this work.  A special thank you to Kyra Ginalski, BES Librarian Extraordinaire and our wonderfully supportive Educational Consultant, Sharon Wight for helping us to design an informative webpage for you with resources, links and FAQs.

Thank you for your trust and support in this process, we are confident that these changes and refinements will make a positive difference to our instructional practices and that we will continue to see improvements in student achievement.
